The Company has a vacancy for a New Business Consultant to be based at its Durban Industrial Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for pursuing business both locally as well as cross-border, whilst raising and maintaining the Company’s profile within the industry. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain current client database
    • Client liaison and visits on a regular basis
    • Identify objectives and strategies to assist in maintaining and moving the current business relationship forward
  • Pursue business with new clients
    • Understand the client’s vision, culture and financial conditions, relationships and growth expectations
    • Identify new and potential clients’ needs and requirements
    • Drive sales and increase the company’s market share in allotted territories throughout RSA as well as Swaziland and Mozambique
  • Provide feedback on market trends and customer comments
    • Marketing plan outlining marketing strategies o Regular marketing reports based on client visits o Evaluate competitor activities
  • Carry out walk-about inspections
    • On-site visits at clients’ premises
    • Understand client’s operations and technical requirements
  • Complete tender documents
    •  Oversee and monitor preferred supplier applications
    •  Liaise with clients regarding tender specifications
    •  Ensure all specifications and requirements are recorded and communicated

  • Technical qualification will be a definite advantage
  • 5 – 6 years’ proven marketing experience in an industrial environment
  • Knowledge of technical drawings
  • Must be in possession of a valid Code 8 driver’s licence – not negotiable
  • Drive and results orientated
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of regard towards customer service
  • Candidate must be willing to travel on a regular basis
  • Sound knowledge of the paper, sugar, mining, fabrication & automotive industries
  • Negotiating and influencing skills
