A team from Dormac and SFG Engineering attended a 4 day course in Offshore Survival Training in early November at the South African Coast Guard Training Centre in Paarden Eiland.
The course runs over 4 days and is made up of the following modules:
- Safety at Sea Familiarisation
- HUET (Helicopter Underwater Emergency Training)
- Elementary First Aid at Sea
- Marine Fire Fighting
This course is a minimum requirement for anyone wanting to work in the offshore industry and standard training for Dormac’s travelling repair teams who are sent to clients around Sub Saharan Africa including the Indian Ocean Islands, These are teams tailored to the Clients specific requirements whether mechanical, steel, piping or electrical, which are mobilised and deployed to the vessel or unit in order to accomplish specific tasks on board the whilst underway or on location.
